Cleveland Bike Rack
The Cleveland Bike Rack, presented by Cleveland Clinic, is
located in the Gateway North Parking Garage at East 4th and High
Street and offers a variety of new services in downtown Cleveland
for cyclists. The 1,400 square foot facility provides safe and
convenient parking for up to 50 bikes inside, and 10 bikes on the
outdoor patio. Additional services include bike rentals, repairs,
and retail as well as private showers, a changing area, and lockers
for bicycle commuters.
The Bike Rack was initiated by the City of Cleveland and
demonstrates the City's commitment to becoming a more bike-friendly
community. It also supports Cleveland's continued efforts to
become a more competitive and sustainable city by promoting
alternative forms of transportation.
It cost the City $600,000 to convert the first-floor storefront of
the parking garage into the Bike Rack. Funding was provided
by the City of Cleveland and Energy Efficiency Conservation Block
Grants received as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment
Act.
The Cleveland Bike Rack opened in September 2011. Downtown
Cleveland Alliance was asked by the City of Cleveland to manage
operations of the facility.
